This chest was the first piece of Stickley furniture that I ever made. I was toying with the idea when I saw an original at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. After that I knew it was on the short list of projects. When someone approached me about a wedding gift, I proposed this chest and they were on board. It is made from quartersawn white oak, with a cedar-lined bottom, and dyed. It was a joy to build and a turned out beautifully. Unfourtanely, I’ve lost touch with the client and recipient and only have these few photos of the finished piece. I would absolutely love to build another one, so get your name on the schedule today for yours.
